Join this ‘Virtual Break’ - an informal online discussion organized by the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) on ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Public Libraries'. As AI tools become more widely used, we will explore practical training experiences and resources to help librarians enhance their AI literacy and improve community understanding of this technology. In this session (up to 90 min), we will have two speakers:

• Prince Osei-Gyamfi, IT Coordinator at the Central Regional Library, Ghana Library Authority, will talk about the artificial intelligence training he delivered to fellow librarians, including how the idea came about, what the training involved and the feedback he received.
• Ugne Lipeikaite, Impact Manager at EIFL-PLIP, will demonstrate an adapted training resource, 'Smart Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)', which is designed to support public librarians in delivering training to young people aged 12–15. The resource covers what AI is, how it is experienced in everyday life, and how to use it safely, responsibly and effectively.

There will be time for questions and answers, feedback and sharing of good practice at the end of the virtual break.
