This two-page case study describes Public Library ‘Dušan Matic’ Cuprija’s Biblioteka++ pilot project, which built computer coding skills of over 500 children and youth. In lively classes, young people learnt to create problem solving software, to develop web applications and to write computer code to make robots move.

The pilot project, which was funded by the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP), also created an interactive website for young people to learn new skills and share knowledge. Librarians report that the project inspired 13 mathematics graduates to enroll for further study at an IT college.

The library has received support from Cuprija Municipality to continue its Biblioteka ++ classes.
